Appearance
Obsidian scales and ashen, nightkissed skin wrap around this little bookwyrm, topped with silvered, moonlit hair that cascades beyond her shoulders and weaves along her back, parted aside her smooth, delicate horns to reveal a pair of gentle lavender eyes that lay nestled behind a pair of round, dark-rimmed spectacles.Tsyring is of shorter stature, honed in the delicate frame of a scribe that carries with it an air of grace long wound into her movements, a precise second nature that guides her movements with ease. She's often garbed in darker clothing and onyx-metaled jewelry, her wardrobe rife with black leathers, straps of lace, and a tendancy to look more like a librarian or schoolteacher than the nobility that would proclaim her financial stature.Extrasensory Information
Scent: A meandering wisp of lavender coiled and entangled with the scents of dried ink and well-aged parchment. It's a scent of weathered leather and the gentle embrace of a story, as if the very scent of a well-loved tome cracked open after a lifetime left unread.Aether: Should one be able to sense or see that sort of thing, the aether of this little bookwyrm is a touch different than what might be expected; perhaps predictably, her own font lays shrouded in a menagerie of traces -- from jewelry, to whatever eldritch constructs lay rife within her pockets. The tattoos along her skin stand out in their own subtle circuits.
Personality
Don't let the delicate musings of her voice fool you - Tsyring's words flutter forth in a carefully crafted assembly, scriptures written on the tip of her tongue before leaving her lips like songs written long before their performance. Her demeanor rests as mirthful and polite, never quite slipping into the more casual side of things unless she finds herself nearby those she deems exceptionally close. To her friends, she acts as a grounding point - a constant of music, of advice, of a gentle guidance should they find themselves seeking. The nigh-endless stacks of her library seem an apt metaphor for her personality, nearly every title taken from a fire, a ruin, a scarred collection that the little Xaela has painstakingly restored and breathed life into once more.Beneath the surface, however, lies a deadly dichotomy - an amalgamation of unsung fears that, on the palest of moons, may slip between the gaze in those lavender hues; just what she fears, however, remains a mystery.
Hooks
Ah, hooks. Here are a few of the more popular reasons one may want to try their hand in contacting this elaborate enchantress; perhaps one of them catches your eye?The Librarian - Tsyring's quite versed in Archanima, with a specialization in the manipulation of external Aether. Pair this with the collection of crystals and relics that she keeps about her form, and it's no secret that she's something of a huge nerd well-versed expert on the matter. Perhaps you're seeking guidance? Tutoring? Or, maybe you've come across a problem that requires a measure of Aetheric expertise? Perhaps this little Xaela can lend a hand. The Ink - The skin between Tsyring's scales is positively wreathed in tattoos depicting countless diagrams and spells of Archanimic nature from her collarbone to the tips of her fingers. A trained eye (or one with aethersight) may be able to pick up on the aetheric conductivity within the designs, or perhaps it's enough to draw the curiosity forth? The Web - One can have all the gil in the world, and be nowhere without the power of connections. From Kugane to Ul'dah, she's accumulated faces, names, contacts... Her work in the political and underground world in kind has earned her something of a cutthroat reputation before her "retirement", loose ends (mostly) tied and terrifying reputation intact as she took something of a back seat to the matter. She once acted under the alias of "Miss Amethyst" for darker dealings. She may be looking to hire for a job on the darker side of the table, or perhaps some of that history has caught up to her.The Gilded Song - This ashen Xaela worked within many venues throughout the years as a high-brow entertainer and courtesan, and has even acted as the Madam and owner of a bordello. Perhaps your character was a dignitary or client that once attempted to court her, or perhaps she has a nugget of blackmail from the experience. She was known to play the harp, often drawing her audience to tears and smiles alike, and was highly sought after for her company once upon a time. The Proprietress - Tsyring is the keeper of a large private library, reliquary, and speakeasy in Shirogane known as the Raven's Roost. Perhaps you're an avid reader, catching rumors of it on the wind - or perhaps, you've an old relic or tome she might be interested in.The Deep Pockets - Whether it's by the way she spends her gil, or the air about her, one may be able to pin that this little Xaela has quite the sum of gil to her name. Perhaps she might be looking for your services; or perhaps, you may be looking for an easy mark to pickpocket or rob. Either way, send me a DM, and I'm sure we can work something out.
Writing Snippet
Nestled amidst the calm, tide-drenched seacliffs of Shirogane laid a library. It was rumored to hold all manner of literary morsels, from unpublished treatise on Aetherology scrawled at the hand of a long-dead, longer-mad author, to tomes and scrolls thought to have been burned and lost entirely.Just beyond the thick, well-weathered doors of the threshold laid an expansive lobby, with shelves of books that reached from the black marble of the floor to the solid hard wood of the ceiling. Fixed in the center was a large desk, on it perched a small Xaellic woman with one such tome clutched within the inked, ashen digits of her grasp. The lavender tides of her eyes lifted to wash over the new arrival, a delicate crease of mirth echoing in both the corners of her eyes and the edges of her cheeks. The book in her grasp snapped shut with a delicate collision of pages, set aside as her attentions shifted from literature to poetry in motion. Obsidian scales slithered from her lap as she hopped down, and her heels clicked softly against the marbled floor. A habitual dusting of her skirt preceded the full bearing of her attentions, as curious as they were analytical. When her smile parted, her voice drew forth like an old, well-sung melody of a tale -- holding welcoming warmth and subtle warning upon the very same breath."Please, come in." The bookwyrm gestured with the beckoning crook of finger. "What might I help you with, dear?"
Contact & OOC
Hiya! Thanks for reading the profile! If you're interested in RPing with Tsyring, drop me a line ingame or on Discord: ashthecyberwitch. As a general note, I'm usually looking for more in-depth or longer-term connections and stories between characters. I enjoy things developing naturally; Tsyring is a long-written character with a lot of history and meanings behind her thoughts and actions, and I'd love for that to continue as she meets more folks around Eorzea and otherwise!Player is 30+ with over 18 years of roleplay & writing experience. Please be 21+ OOC if engaging for RP.Personally, I tend to be a touch shy/cue blind OOC, so don't be afraid to be forward and drop me a line (I really appreciate it)!If you're after quick ERP, this is not the character for you. I enjoy writing all sorts of themes, but I at least enjoy it aptly woven with character development and in-depth stories, damnit! If it doesn't make sense with the plot, it's not going to happen. That said, I enjoy anything from dark to light themes -- if you're unsure, don't be afraid to float an idea my direction. ^^In terms of writing style, I tend towards para-posting, and usually mirror-post whoever I'm writing with.Have a comment, suggestion, criticism, hook idea, or just plain want to say hello? Give me a poke~!Cheers.
